Community Guidelines

Standards for respectful and safe participation in KiTech Software communities and communication services.

Version
1.0.0
Last updated
7 August 2026

1. Purpose

These guidelines apply to KiTech Software services that allow people to communicate, publish, collaborate, create communities, or share user-generated content.

They supplement the Acceptable Use Policy and any product-specific community rules.

2. Expected conduct

Participants should:

  • communicate respectfully and in good faith;
  • respect privacy, consent, confidentiality, and personal boundaries;
  • use accurate identities and authority claims where identity matters;
  • follow community, organisation, workspace, and moderator rules;
  • use reporting and blocking tools responsibly; and
  • consider the safety and accessibility needs of other participants.

3. Prohibited conduct and content

You must not:

  • harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, shame, or deliberately target another person;
  • encourage violence, self-harm, exploitation, or abuse;
  • publish hateful content that attacks people based on protected characteristics;
  • share intimate, sexual, private, or identifying material without lawful authority and consent;
  • sexually exploit or endanger a child or young person;
  • groom, solicit, or facilitate inappropriate contact with a child;
  • impersonate another person, moderator, organisation, or KiTech representative;
  • organise fraud, scams, spam, coordinated manipulation, or deceptive engagement;
  • distribute malware, phishing links, stolen credentials, or instructions intended to compromise systems;
  • repeatedly disrupt conversations, evade moderation, or recreate accounts to avoid restrictions; or
  • use a community primarily to facilitate activity prohibited by law or the Acceptable Use Policy.

4. Moderation tools

Depending on the product and deployment, participants and administrators may be able to:

  • block or mute accounts;
  • report content, accounts, communities, or messages;
  • restrict membership or posting permissions;
  • remove content;
  • suspend or remove participants; and
  • apply organisation-specific governance rules.

Customer-managed and self-hosted deployments may appoint their own moderators and administrators. Their decisions remain subject to applicable law, contractual obligations, and product controls.

5. Reporting

Use the in-product reporting function where available. Reports should identify the relevant product, account, message, content, community, and approximate time.

Urgent safety concerns may be reported to hello@kitechsoftware.com. Do not email illegal imagery or other prohibited content. Send identifiers and a description instead.

Where there is an immediate risk of harm, contact the appropriate local emergency service or law-enforcement authority.

6. Enforcement and appeals

KiTech or the responsible deployment operator may take proportionate action based on severity, context, repetition, risk, and available evidence.

Where appropriate, affected users will receive notice and an opportunity to request review. A review may be unavailable where disclosure would create a safety, security, legal, or investigative risk.

7. Product-specific rules

Individual products, organisations, and communities may publish additional rules. Those rules may be stricter but must not authorise conduct prohibited by this policy or applicable law.
